From Shopify to DV: following your forwarded orders

A new Shopify order arrives, and your team needs its details in DV Shipping. The integration forwards new order data automatically after the store is connected. Here is how to follow that transfer and check the record when a question comes up.

Start with the connection

Connect the Shopify store to DV Shipping before evaluating the forwarding workflow. Use the instructions shown in the current connection screen and confirm that the intended store is selected. Choose the destination in DV Shipping, then complete the connection in Shopify.

For an internal handover, record which store was connected, who completed the setup and when it was checked. These notes give the next person a starting point if an order needs investigation.

Follow a new order into the dashboard

After connection, the integration sends new order data to the DV dashboard. The order list shows payment and fulfillment status alongside tracking numbers for forwarded orders.

When checking a particular order, start with its identifier. Compare the relevant information with the source order in Shopify and note any discrepancy for investigation.

Build the check around a new order created after connection. Do not assume older orders were imported automatically.

Use the forwarding history for the data question

The forwarding history shows records of order data sent to DV Shipping, including the event, its status and the date. Use it to check what was recorded for the order you are reviewing.

A useful investigation note identifies the order, the event being checked, its timestamp and the question that remains open. Keep observations separate from conclusions. If the record is unclear, seek clarification before repeating an action or telling the customer what happened.

Keep physical fulfillment as a separate question

A forwarding record concerns the transfer of order data. It does not, by itself, confirm that a supplier dispatched the parcel or that a carrier received it. Those questions require the relevant operational confirmation.

For a clear customer response, identify which stage the question concerns: order details, supplier handling or shipment movement. Then consult the information appropriate to that stage.
